As 2023 came to an opening I made the decision to change everything I was doing to last year. This started with me and nobody else, it was all on me.
So what changed, I had taken some time after Christmas not in an work and made a decision that was I going to come to this time next year and find I was in the exact same position. The answer was simple "NO", so I shifted my way of thinking. I started to reflect on the past year and look at what really worked for me and what was not working. I noticed that I was doing a lot for others and my time was not always my own, if I wanted to change it I had to take back control.
When you start something new and wondering why it is not working it is easy to blame others and the world around you but a lot of the time it simply comes down to you (me). I had to change my thinking, my paradigm, I did a lot of reflection and I decided that 2023 was my reset.
I don't normally make New Year's resolution but I had a goal on where I want to be at the end of the year. To reach that I needed to break down month to month what I was going to achieve. I set a mantra at the beginning of the year and I am sticking to it. I am doing a lot of work on mindset as this really shifts my energy and I can bring that energy into my work.
So I suppose upon reflection there are things within our control that we can take on for us. Mindset is the key to your success, trust in yourself and that you can make the change.
Here are some podcasts and books that I would recommend:
- Melody Beattie's Journey to the Heart
I started this year with a 21 day challenge of gratitude and I have found this to be both easy and difficult, however once I began to focus on everything that I have the things that I don't have are okay and I am abundant. There is so much that we take for granted but this simple step of #attitudeofgratitude is a great challenge to focus where your mind should be rather than what you don't have. It takes you back to present, which is all we have at the end of the day. The past is gone and done, the future is ours to make but never mapped out, all we can really do is focus on the present. What a Gift.
I have just loaded a #30daychallenge on my socials, this is a fitness one but you may like to join in and see if you can challenge yourself for 30 days. Change your mindset and anything is achievable.
